Rowan County is full of great places to go to hear good music and eat great food. From DJ’s Restaurant on West Innes street to Morgan Ridge Vineyard in Gold Hill there is so much to choose from. However the Pavilion built in Spencer is very unique and brings a new pulse to Spencer!
Located at 1625 N US Hwy 29 Spencer, NC, the facility sits on 2.8 acres of land. There are 4 buildings on site that each serve the purpose and mission of the Konnected Foundation. A 501 C3 organization whose vision and aim is to find what holds children’s interests and provide them with options to keep them out of trouble. They have a program named T.E.A.C.H. Which stands for Technology, Engineering, Arts, Communication and Horticulture. The events that are hosted on site and the concerts hosted on their 45ft X 35FT stage allows for programs to be offered to the children free of charge! Just one conversation with Mr. Glover and you will learn quickly that his passion lies with seeing children feel accepted and growing in their passion.
A little about Kevan Glover, he’s originally from New York and has been in the entertainment industry for over 16 years. He has worked with EMPD, Das EFX, JCole, Fantasia and more. He has an office in Charlotte and is well known as a successful businessman that cares about the community. He is the Founder and producer of The Queen City Awards show. The award ceremony is to recognize Carolina musical artists no matter if indie or mainstream. There are 13 categories and this is the 15th year of the award show which has been a tremendous success in Charlotte. Kevan is most proud of being able to provide 250 scholarships through the Konnected Foundation. His team works tirelessly to bring quality shows to its spectators and supporters.
On June 26th Konnected Wellness Center will host The Konnected Hip Hop Series. Artists performing are Brand Nubian, Mr. Cheeks and the host is Greg Nice from Nice and Smooth. Music is by DJ T.O.P and the Co-Host is B-MO.Tickets are 30.00 each, the gates open at 2pm and you must bring your lawn chair! They have food and drinks on site to enjoy. The first event they had was a first responders appreciation day which was to honor all of the first responders in the county as well as to campaign to stop the violence in our community.
